Aftercare, Service and Hearing Aid Repairs

When you visit private hearing aid providers you will encounter a varied range of products and services. Some providers can seem more attractive because of their lower prices whilst some will be attractive because they are better in quality. The prescription and fitting of a hearing system is just the start of the process with Healthy Hearing. We will provide you with help and support throughout your journey, including hearing aid repairs and other aftercare services.

In many cases our experienced and dedicated receptionists and support staff can diagnose and solve a problem you may experience with your hearing aid, without needing to see your Audiologist, meaning you receive a much faster service than you might elsewhere.

Whilst many hearing care providers promise aftercare, most are free but some will charge extra for all appointments after the initial fitting and others will allow the ongoing care to lapse if you don’t chase them up yourselves.

To ensure we see you regularly, we will forward book your next appointment at the end of your current appointment. That way you can rest assured that you will not wait long between appointment. You will also have the peace of mind that if anything crops up between your scheduled appointments, we will be on hand to sort it out.

With Healthy Hearing, aftercare is free of charge. See Our Promise to you on service for more details on hearing aid repair and adjustments for example.

Learning to hear takes time

Typically, you should allow several weeks (in some cases, months) to re-acclimatise to the sounds around you. Once you are used to amplified sound, you will require regular check-ups to ensure your ears and hearing aids are working as well as they can.  In the initial stages of using your hearing aids, you may forget some of the information we have given you or may have a question. We have some handy hints and tips to help you along the way. If you require further information, please contact us.

You get what you pay for

Because hearing loss can alter, it is not only vital that the hearing aid you use is cleaned, checked or repaired, but that your own hearing health is monitored properly.  This also applies to interim service appointments for adjustments.  It is not enough to be seen every six months, especially if the appointment is too short or rushed.

An appointment to assess how well your hearing system is working for you must include a hearing test and enough time to reprogram the system to any new readings that are found. There may also be a requirement to address a change in circumstances, which means you need additional settings to be added to your hearing aids or for existing settings to be adjusted following a problem you have experienced. This may even mean that the fundamental setup and configuration needs changing.
